On June 30th, The Cultural Center of Charlotte County honored their volunteers with an Appreciation Breakfast. “There are over 600 volunteers at the CulturalCenter, and the Cultural Center would not be able to run without the donation of your time and efforts.” Jim Hageman, Executive Director said as he addressed the volunteers.

“The Cultural Center is what is it today because of the dedication of our volunteers”, said Rufus Lazzell, Cultural Center President. It is my honor to be surrounded by those that make this “The Place that Friendship Built”.

The breakfast was served by the Rotary Club of Charlotte Harbor, and there were raffles and entertainment, as well as guest speakers Commissioners Robert Skidmore, Bob Starr and Dick Loftus. The Commissioners all spoke highly of our volunteers, and recognized that volunteers also volunteer for other organizations.

The Cultural Center of Charlotte County is proud to announce Janice Gadbois as The Volunteer of the Year for 2009. Janice is an incredible woman who volunteers her time in the Learning Place at the Cultural Center, as well as managing the Antique Shows. Janice has always helped out in a drop of a hat. She is a selfless person, who always lends a hand, a smile and her heart to anyone who needs anything. The Cultural Center is proud to have Janice represent a volunteer of the Cultural Center.
