The Cultural Center presents its Wall of Honor
The Cultural Center is a non-profit organization. That means the whole reason for the Cultural Center’s existence is to fulfill the mission of enriching your life through all the programs, clubs, and activities that are going on all day long. Anyone is welcome to come, and no one is turned away. All fees that the Center charges go back into offering additional activities. Every new event that we are able to put on comes from your support.
A significant portion of our support funds come from large donations that have been left for the Cultural Center in trusts and wills. The Cultural Center does not receive any governmental money to help support operating expenses, so the donations received from our friends in the community help maintain “The Place That Friendship Built.”
This past week, The Cultural Center was proud to unveil its new Wall of Honor that highlights the major benefactors that have supported the Cultural Center over the past forty nine years. “It is my honor as President to be able to offer a tribute to those who have helped the Cultural Center grow. It is a small way of saying ‘Thank You’ for your support,” said Brigadier General Army Ret. Rufus Lazzell, President of the Cultural Center.
No donation goes without recognition. In the café, there is a wall that also displays those supporters who have given to us in smaller denominations. Please stop by and visit our Wall of Honor. There is a guest book for you to sign, so you can be a part of our history. If you would like to be a part of the legacy and be added to the Wall of Honor, please contact our financial manager, Velma Plummer, at 941-625-4175 ext. 211.
