“Too Darn Hot” Sizzles in August
Featuring Valerie Sneade and Michelle Kasanofsky

Turning Leaf Productions announce a special summer performance, Too Darn Hot!  The Valerie & Michelle Show which will take place at The Cultural Center Theatre on Friday, August 18th and Saturday, August 19th at 8PM.  The show features two of Port Charlotte’s local favorites, Valerie Sneade & Michelle Kasanofsky.  The dynamic duo will be performing many of your favorite songs of yesteryear with their unique blend of harmonic vocal styling.  Add in their obvious camaraderie and witty banter with the audience and a good time is sure to be had by all.  Songs celebrated include hits of the 60’s such as Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, One Fine Day, and Going to the Chapel as well as favorite pop tunes such as Your Mama Don’t Dance, The Rose and Enough Is Enough.  

Individual tickets for the show are $12.  Group sales are also available for parties of 20 or more.  The Turning Leaf Productions’ box office will open on Monday, August 7th and box office hours will be Monday – Friday from 10AM – 3PM.  For those who would like to get preferred seating in advance, you can order by phone by calling Turning Leaf Productions at 941-380-2507.  You can also email your ticket orders at [email protected].  All of our seats are reserved in advance.  Get to the box office early - Too Darn Hot!  The Valerie & Michelle show will surely sell out!

Season tickets are also available for the 2006/2007 Turning Leaf Production season.  The season commences in November and ends in April.  Shows presented are The Mancini’s…At the Movies, Because It’s Christmas, New Year’s Eve Spectacular, Three Swingin’ Tenors, Sisters of Song, An Irishman’s Journey Home, and Legends: Part Three.  Season ticket passes range from $52 - $60.

“The Spirit of Elvis,” featuring Eric Erickson
Saturday, August 26th  - 7:30 pm  - $6.00

You’re sure to be refreshed by the tremendous Eric Erickson and his heartfelt tribute to “The King.”  Eric is a resident of Arcadia and has performed many times in Southwest Florida.  You may have even seen him a time or two here at the Cultural Center.  “The Spirit of Elvis” focuses on both the gospel and rock-n-roll super-hits for which Elvis was most famous.

Classic Films in August

Classic films continue in our theater this summer, with four classic filsm to be presented this month.  All will be presented in their original big screen format in our comfortable 400+ seat air conditioned theater.  There is a suggested $3 donation for each admission, and popcorn, sodas and other theater snacks will be available at our concession stand.

"The Searchers"  (1956)   Sunday, August 6 at 2:00 pm
A classic Western staring John Wayne, Ward Bond, Jeffrey Hunger, Vera Miles and Natalie Wood.  Directed by John Ford.

"Singin' in the Rain"  (1952)  Sunday, August 13 at 2:00 pm
Who could forget the performance of Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor in this classic musical?  You don't want to miss this one.

"Cape Fear"  (1962)  Sunday, August 20 at 2:00 pm
This is the original version of this film (not the remake), and stars Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum and Polly Bergen.  You won't sleep through this thriller!

"Casablanca"  (1942)  Sunday, August 27 at 2:00 pm
We've saved the best for the last show of the month, with this classis black and white film staring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.  Don't miss it!
